PRESENTATION
Dear Teacher,
______________________
We rejoice and exult in the Lord for offering you the Biblical Study Magazine, whose theme is: The Babylonian Captivity — Seventy Years of Exile, Faith, and Hope.
In this edition, teachers and students will be guided through one of the most dramatic and transformative periods in biblical history.
The fall of Jerusalem, the deportation to Babylon, and the seventy years of exile were not merely political milestones, but signs of Yahweh’s judgment upon a people who had strayed from the covenant.
In a foreign land, Israel discovers that it can still cry out, resist, and even praise. Through the voice of the prophets, exile becomes a classroom of faith, where tears and songs intertwine, and where divine providence reveals itself stronger than the power of empires.
The course of history reveals that the Lord raises up even pagan kings to fulfill His purposes. Through them, the path toward return is opened—the rebuilding of the Temple, the restoration of the walls, and the renewal of community life. This cycle of studies is also a present-day call: to recognize that even in times of crisis, the hand of the Almighty continues to sustain, correct, and restore.
May each lesson in this magazine be an opportunity to renew confidence in God, who never abandons those who belong to Him.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
